GC Theatre’s Production Lineup

by David Slifer

For the 2023-2024 school year, Greensboro College’s Theatre department has an amazing lineup of shows that they will be putting on this year. This year, the shows we will have the amazing opportunity to see are “Sailor Song” directed by William Perry Hall, “Let’s Murder Marsha” directed by Rebecca Hawkes, “Edge” directed by Ashley Hyers and Andy Mock, “Merrily We Roll Along” directed by David Schram, “Cabarevue!” which will also be directed by William Perry Hall, “Communication Doors” directed by Jo Hall and “The Ties That Bind” directed by Danielle Aikens.

“Sailor Song” will be the first show performed. Its opening night will be on September 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the Huggins performance center, and its last show night will be on September 16 at 7:30 p.m. We are extremely excited to be putting these shows on and we cannot wait for people to come see them. To find out when the shows will be playing, you can go to the Greensboro College website and look under the calendar. Tickets are free, so anyone and everyone is welcome.

Although Huggins is where most of the shows are usually performed, some will be performed in different theatres this year. For instance, “Cabarevue!” will be performed at Virginia Somerville Sutton Theatre. For “The Ties That Bind,” it will be played at the Anne Sellars Parlor Theatre, which is in Main Building. The performing arts have grown more this year and we cannot wait to see the talent and brain that has gone into each of these shows.

Once again, if you are interested in coming but do not know when the dates of a show are, just check the calendar on the Greensboro College website. Dates will also be shared on the Greensboro College Instagram page. Come on out to these shows, and we hope you enjoy the talent brought to the stage.
