What word can describe the Central Carolina Fair of 2023? Well, it is the word exciting. There were kids running about with utter joy in their smile as they ran from ride to ride with tickets clutched tightly in their grasp. The fair included thrilling rides like the iconic ferris wheel, swing ride, pirate ship, fun slide and many more additional amusement rides.

On par with these rides were carnival games: darts, ring toss, basketball—all with the objective of winning a stuffed or inflatable animal ranging in size. The fair also hosted two variety shows, one being motorbike and bike stunt show, in which they showcased their ability to test gravity in daring flips and tricks. The other show included tightrope walking, an aerial show and juggling.

One cannot forget about the carnival food, as well: caramel apples, funnel cakes, kettle corn and so much more, with aromas that drew crowds.

Finally, the last exciting part of the fair was the petting exhibit, where kids were able to ride ponies and crowds were able to feed or pet goats, camels, llamas and even small cows.

Overall, the nights of the fair brought many in with their neon signs and promises of good food and a good time.
