Visiting Tate Street Coffee House

by Brooklen Parks

Are you an inspiring artist that wants recognition? Do you happen to enjoy coffee, as well? Tate Street Coffee House is a local business near our Greensboro College campus. This place offers a cozy atmosphere, friendly service and house blend coffee.

The inside of Tate Street Coffee House is warm and inviting.

On top of offering coffee and food, Tate Street Coffee House also gives small artists and musicians the opportunity to showcase their talents. The coffee house holds monthly art showcases and weekend jazz concerts. For the Month of April, they are hosting their monthly community art show. The theme of the showcase will be coffee! Artists who wish to expand their experience can go to Tate Coffee House and participate in the show. You will have the opportunity to sell your work, or your work can be a part of the wall gallery and add to the atmosphere of the café. More information is available in the cafe.

Going into Tate Street Coffee House, you feel very warm and welcomed with an amazing vibe. It does get crowded, as my friend and I were in line for a minute, but it does not take away from the great coffee that was served to us. Not only is it a perfect spot to hang out with your friends, but it is also an excellent place to study. Their menu is not limited to beverages either, they have an array of breakfast and lunch items on their menu as well.

My personal recommendation would be their sausage, egg and cheese sandwich—I view it as a classic item that you can never go wrong with. For a little dessert, I grabbed a turtle brownie. My only critique of the coffee shop as a whole is that it may seem cluttered because of the limited space, and at times one could feel claustrophobic. Otherwise, the pros outweigh the cons, and I can guarantee that you will have a pleasant experience at Tate Street Coffee House.
