One great place to have an awesome night in Greensboro is Bourbon Bowl. This retro-themed restaurant and bowling alley combination guarantees a great time for anyone. Located on the corner of South Elm and East Lewis Street, it is at the perfect location, only a four minute drive from Greensboro College. This place was once an abandoned gas station and junkyard but in 2021, it made the change to what we know today. The location of Bourbon Bowl, matched with its nice outdoor seating and vintage feel, provides an open and welcoming spot that is perfect for people watching and taking in all the sights and sounds of the city, all while enjoying a delicious meal.
Bourbon Bowl is home to the longest bar in Greensboro and is staffed with fantastic bartenders that make delicious cocktails and provide a large assortment of beer, for our upper classmen of course, that can take the night to another level. There are TVs everywhere making it a good location to bowl, eat and watch any sports games. The attraction of the bowling lanes is unique and truly makes Bourbon Bowl one of a kind. It has six lanes that look amazing and are high quality. You will have a night to remember when choosing to spend your night here. The food is enough of an attraction itself, stocked full of craft items from the ahi tuna bites to the brisket fries, there is a delicious option for everyone.
When visiting Greensboro, University of Chapel Hill student Logan Dutka had this to say about Bourbon Bowl, “Whenever I stop by Greensboro Bourbon Bowl, it always has the perfect vibe for any kind of night.” Bourbon Bowl also has the option to be rented out for parties, making it a fun attraction for any kind of gathering and will make you feel comfortable and right at home. Next time you find yourself needing to get out for fun activities and great food, Bourbon Bowl is the place!
Trying to get some new outfits for the change of season? A great place to shop for unique and hard-to-find clothing is Standout Vintage. Located right across the street from Bourbon Bowl, this is a great option for anyone, from fashion enthusiasts to someone just looking for a cool gift for a friend. This store has a welcoming throwback vibe decorated with all kinds of sports, music, and pop culture memorabilia. Even if you are not buying anything, just looking around and taking it all in can be great time. The store has so many different genres available, meaning you can find something for everyone here. Split into easy to navigate sections, it makes the shopping process very enjoyable and stress free. This setup is what puts the shopping experience above the other vintage stores in the downtown Greensboro area.
One common problem you may run into at other stores is the lack of organization which can make it a daunting task to begin shopping at secondhand stores. Standout Vintage makes it easy to navigate with sections labeled, prices listed and sizes on tags. Another issue you may run into is the cleanliness and care of the products displayed. Standout does a great job of bringing in high quality goods that are in great condition, helping to avoid the fear of an item being torn up in the wash or falling apart shortly after being purchased. Purchasing secondhand and supporting small local business helps our community and our planet. It reduces waste needed to produce new goods, trash from shipping and helps clothes to be reused and increase their shelf lives.
I have personally shopped at Standout Vintage and can vouch for the quality of the products as well as the great time you will have shopping. So next time you find yourself in need of some new gear, check out Standout Vintage!
