The Kinesiology Club is hosting its very first athletic drive where they will be collecting donations for athletic gear, sports equipment, athletic attire, shoes and balls. The KIN club will be giving back to the Greensboro community and hoping to make a different in a future athlete’s life. The three donation boxes are located in Hanes Gym, Reynolds Center and first floor of the Main building. The donations will be donated to a local school or Boys & Girls Club.

The purpose of the athletic drive is to propel others forward, to achieve goals and to motivate young athletes so they can have that dream. According to NCAA, only around 6% of high school athletes play sports at the collegiate level. To look at that in a different perspective, only about one of 16 high school athletes will compete at the collegiate level. Even less than 2% of high school athletes compete at the Division I level. Having the athletic drive allows future athletes to continue their dream of playing in the NCAA.
The Kinesiology Club found a great way for GC to bring back to the community. With Greensboro College having a huge population being athletes, this Athletic Drive is a great way for students to provide resources for future athletes. There are so many opportunities here in Greensboro to give back to the community, but youth sports is where we decided to give back. If you wish to become more involved or want to help with the Athletic Drive, please contact our President Bethany McQuinn for further details. If you wish to donate stop at one of our three donation locations.
