One for the record books

Fall 2025 will forever hold special significance for Greensboro College, by accomplishing something that speaks volumes about our educational programs. Greensboro College had its largest freshman class ever, adding to a total enrollment of 1,012 students – a six percent increase from last year’s class and the largest incoming class in the college’s 187-year history.

The Collegian had the chance to sit down with freshmen, upperclassmen, and professors at Greensboro College to talk about how they feel about this large incoming class and what has changed since last year. We spoke with two first-year students, Landon Packerd and Parker Evans, both members of the largest freshman class in Greensboro College history, and asked what experiences they are most excited about and why they chose our college.

Landon Packerd said that he loved meeting people from all around the country, and he chose Greensboro due to the college having his major and giving him the chance to continue playing golf. Parker Evans also said he loves the experience of meeting new people and being able to grow relationships that he would never otherwise have. Evans chose Greensboro College for its small school atmosphere that feels like home.

As students of The Collegian, we have heard talk from many friends and peers on campus about parking and cafeteria concerns, so we took to the campus and spoke with sophomore student-athlete Jacon Cook about how he felt about parking with the abundance of first-year students and more cars on campus. He said that finding a place to park this year is like living in a big city, with small roads and parking spaces and too many people to fit in. Another sophomore student-athlete, Bralen Crowder, said that he really did feel the change in the overall number of students on campus, adding that in his freshman year he could go to the cafe and get as much of anything that he wanted.

Despite some minor challenges, this is good growth for Greensboro College, and we are excited to see all the new faces. Let us all strive for greatness this year and make it our year at Greensboro College. We hope to have a lively and active campus this year. Go Pride.
