Every semester, the Greensboro College Kinesiology Club hosts sporting events to bring the student body together. Since several GC students are athletes, the events hosted by the club draw many participants. One of the club’s most successful events has been the cornhole and spikeball tournament, which returned this year for the second time after having over 80 participants last year.

“The Kinesiology Club is all about getting students on campus active and how this can benefit you mentally and physically,” said Kinesiology Club President Bethany McQuinn about the club and the events typically held. “We like to host tournaments, wellness fairs and collaborate at sporting events.”
Joining the Kinesiology Club is simple – students can connect with any member for a board member’s information and attend meetings.
On September 24, the Kinesiology Club hosted its Cornhole and Spikeball tournament on the Pride Field. More than 60 students attended and competed for a gift card prize.
“The energy was great at the tournament,” McQuinn said. “Although it was a very hot day, everyone was excited to compete and hang out with their peers and friends.”
Participation has been strong at past events, and the club hopes to maintain the same level of engagement moving forward. The Kinesiology Club has several exciting events planned for the semester, including a breast cancer awareness event.
“The next event we are doing will be in October, when we will host pink-out games with the women’s volleyball and women’s soccer teams to raise awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” McQuinn said. “The club plans to have mini games that students and fans can compete in for a chance to win prizes.”
The Kinesiology Club has events planned to keep students active and involved. Those interested in joining the club should contact Bethany McQuinn or Taylor Cotie for more details.
