When I first started as a staff member on The Collegian, my reference for what was interesting/important to publish was very limited. After writing on The Collegian for a bit, and especially after managing the paper, I came to understand the true importance of The Collegian — the community it built and sustained, the power of information it shared, the students it moved to action, and the creative joy it brought myself and others on the team. I attribute most of my learning, inspiration and confidence to my co-editor, Addie Elliott. Friendship is still the greatest gift I received from The Collegian.
